The sounds of steel clashing in anger will make any man surge with testosterone. Thankfully, since I choose not to run around with a broadsword in my shorts I can count on the movies to satisfy this need.

So here are my Top 5 Cinematic Swordfights

#5 King Aurthur vs. The Black KnightMonty Python's Holy Grail 1975

One of the best examples of why swords are NOT toys. Don't believe me? Just ask the Black Knight (although he may simply claim it's just a flesh wound!)

#4 Jack Sparrow vs. Will Turner - Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003

Great fight with lots of movement! One of the high points of the movies. Also, this serves as one of the few swordfights that women will enjoy as well. There are few women that are bothered by a sweaty Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

#3 Yu Shu Lien vs. Jen Yu - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2000

C'mon, two women getting it on and fighting like that has to make anyone's list. To be honest, many scenes from this movie could easily make the list. I chose this scene because I loved how Yu Shu Lien cycled through all available weapons in her failed attempt at victory.

#2 Westley vs. Inigo Montoya - The Princess Bride 1987

One of the greatest fights from one of the greatest movies. Any time you can get Andre' the Giant in your film, AND can secure the Cliffs of Insanity as a shooting location, you cannot lose. Another film with great action scenes, but my favorite will always be this swordfight.

#1 The Bride vs. The Crazy 88's - Kill Bill: Vol. 1

More action, more blood, more carnage and more weapon wielding schoolgirls than I could hope for! This is the pinnacle of excess in cinema and I will always love this movie for that. This movie and it's sequel may be my favorite pair of action movies ever!

What??? No light sabers???

I decided to create a list completely dedicated to the light saber battles.
